Andre Kimo Stone Guess is the president and chief executive officer of the August Wilson Center for African American Culture. His appointment was announced in February, 2010. He is expected to begin the job on April 16, 2010.

The Louisville native, 43, succeeds Marva Harris, who had been interim CEO since July 2009. Mr. Guess has served as vice president and producer, plus director of finance and administration for Jazz at Lincoln Center from 2000-2006. He later founded GuessWorks of Montclair, N.J., a management and consulting firm for non-profit institutions and performing artists.

Oliver Byrd, chairperson of the Center's board of directors, said Mr. Guess is "exactly the right person to lead us through our next phase after building such a magnificent cultural center for Pittsburgh -- extending the mission and vision we have for this Center regionally, nationally and internationally."

The August Wilson Center opened in 2009. It is located on Liberty Avenue, Downtown.
